Farm Box Kids Cooking Camp

 

Cooking-with-kids-12-year-olds-and-over-Farm Box Kids Cooking Camp is a fun-filled camp that will teach your kids smart cooking skills and recipes for delicious, nutritious eats! Your child will learn essential culinary skills such as safe knife handling, kitchen sanitation, recipe comprehension, as well as tips and techniques for cooking farm-fresh food. Each day, students will work as a team to create a menu of several recipes, explore food science concepts, and enjoy eating their creations. Friday is our popular Farmer’s Market Cook Off and Delicious Dessert Challenge!

July 10-14–Boot Camp Basics: Your child will learn all everything they need to know about knife skills, grilling, roasting/baking, sauteing, and more. Whether your children already have kitchen skills or are just starting out, they will be junior master chefs at the end of the week!

July 17-21–Special Occasions Made Simple: Kids will plan special meals that are perfect for family occasions, with simple and elegant twists!

Camp is held from 9:30 to 1:00 pm at the Clark Building Kitchen

Meet the Founders of Farm Box Kids Culinary Classroom

Farm Box Kids Culinary Classroom was founded by Diane Brown Savahge and Stephanie Bass, who believe that cooking with kids sparks healthful eating choices which last a lifetime. They love cooking with their own kids, and have taught children’s cooking classes together since 2010, as well as being part of the LiveWell Kids nutrition and garden program through the Beach Cities Health District. Brown-Savahge is a culinary professional of over 25 years and attended The New School of Cooking in Culver City. Bass has worked as a pastry chef, caterer and cooking class teacher, and attended the culinary program at Long Beach State University.
